E.Cammenga's works grow in obscure locations or places not designated for that purpose.
A formless myth, linked together by a layered reality.
On the paper they flow together, just missing a meeting in time, imagination and form.
The imagination, personal alternative to and in addition to concrete reality,is something that exists in the
mind,in the mind of man is born. Each image arises under the influence of new
experiences, knowledge added to the already existing arsenal, a cumulative process
that is continuously fed and in motion like a salt marsh and the sea.
Each new thought is a sum of all that has gone before or may veer off to end up in an
indistinct place. There arises ‘ only ’ a new image of reality
only to be succeeded shortly afterwards by another. When the feed at any given
moment, the thought, defined as a snapshot, will also get stuck,
strand and eventually die out.
The idea that thought can change existing meanings in matter forms an
important element in E.Cammenga's thinking.
A construction and deconstruction in a sealed time module.
A natural-historical stranding of alienation, humour and investigation.
A depersonalised note with blisters of desire on the tongue.
